Bands in Parks: A Galactic Celebration
Bands in Parks performs at Brisbane Botanic Gardens, Mt Coot-tha. Join the Brisbane Municipal Concert Band for a spectacular afternoon of music at Mt Coot-tha Bandstand on Sunday, May 4th, as they celebrate the timeless saga of Star Wars in a concert like no other! Experience the thrill of the galaxy’s most beloved anthems, including John Williams’ legendary scores, brought to life by one of Brisbane's finest concert ensembles. What will you collect? Welcome to Micro Museum – a space for telling stories through objects. You are invited to explore the fascinating world of collecting, and uncover the memories that objects hold. Inspired by major exhibition Precious in this space you are the curator. You can select, sort and arrange a wide array of items, many of which are second-hand or vintage. Each object holds memories, and now you can create your own.

Lord Mayor's City Hall Concerts presents The Girl from Greece: A Tribute to Nana Mouskouri. Following the resounding success of our 90th birthday tribute concert to Nana Mouskouri in October 2024 at QPAC, The Girl From Greece Singers Katerini Manolatos and Mel Lathouras, along with their stellar band, are preparing to celebrate Nana’s music once again at Brisbane City Hall. With a career spanning over seven decades and album sales in the hundreds of millions, Nana Mouskouri has a place in the hearts of music lovers worldwide. Just mention her name, and people share their love of the singer and her music. In 'The Girl From Greece: A Tribute to Nana Mouskouri,' our audience will journey through Nana’s greatest hits, from 'Never on a Sunday' to 'White Rose of Athens', while paying homage to the Greek music she passionately sang, such as Enas Mythos and Millise Mou. Embark on an enchanting musical journey as we pay tribute to the extraordinary talent of our beloved star, Nana Mouskouri. Immerse yourself in the melodies and lyrics that have captivated audiences from all over the world. 'The Girl from Greece: A Tribute to Nana Mouskouri' was proudly developed with the support of QPAC. If the Seeds Chose Where to Grow' by Rithika Merchant - Howard Smith Wharves art projection
From 30 November 2024 to 5 May 2025, we invite you to explore Council’s latest Outdoor Gallery exhibition, Asia Pacific Triennial Kids: Outdoors presented in collaboration with Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA)’s Children’s Art Centre. Asia Pacific Triennial Kids: Outdoors features eye-catching displays made especially for children and families by artists included in QAGOMA’s 11th Asia Pacific Triennial exhibition (Asia Pacific Triennial Kids). Rithika Merchant (India b.1986) creates bold paintings and collages using a combination of watercolour and cut paper elements, drawing on 17th-century botanical prints and folk art. Merchant is interested in the idea of ‘terraformation’, or ‘earth-shaping’–the process of making a planet, moon or other celestial body fit for human life. This artwork displayed in the Outdoor Gallery features imagery from Merchant’s Asia Pacific Triennial Kids project, If the Seeds Chose Where to Grow (2024), which imagines a new world inhabited by unusual hybrid ‘beings’ and plant forms. Brisbane City Council's Outdoor Gallery transforms Brisbane's laneways, city streets and car parks into imaginative, curious, and engaging spaces. Comprising of light boxes, banners, vitrines, and evening projections, the Outdoor Gallery displays art outside in city streets, instead of inside on gallery walls. 2023 marked 10 years of the Outdoor Gallery program.
