Whether you have little ones or big kids, there's something for everyone. Looking for something unique? Join Tara Coughlan from the Sprung Ensemble for an inclusive dance workshop for all abilities, or gain expert training, male-specific technique, and exclusive insights into the world of ballet at The Ballet Boys Project Holiday Program. Playtopia
Discover a world of wonder at free kids event – Playtopia! Returning to Roma Street Parkland from 9-11 and 16-17 April 2025 between 9am-1pm. Designed to captivate children aged 5-12, Playtopia offers a diverse range of activities tailored to ignite their imagination, foster creativity, and encourage social interaction. Each day introduces new themes, from learning how to breakdance, new sporting skills or unleashing your creative side with various book-inspired craft activities - ensuring an ever-evolving landscape of fun and learning. Playtopia is designed to be a morning filled with entertainment, education, and hands-on activities for every curious mind. It's a celebration of childhood, where every child can explore, learn, and create unforgettable memories. No need to book in advance – simply turn up and go whenever it suits your schedule. Please note there is no Playtopia programmed on Good Friday (18 April).

Obstacle training
Bookings essential. Challenge your whole body with this introduction to obstacle course racing. Learn some new skills and techniques that will help you run and overcome obstacles. Great for building strength and fitness. This is a Chillout event suitable for young people 12-17 years.

Botanical Treasure Hunt
Crack the clues to discover the natural treasures hidden within the Botanic Gardens at Mt Coot-tha. Work alone or in a group and explore the Botanic Gardens to solve this exciting treasure hunt. We have an activity suitable for ages 12 and under, with 2 age appropriate treasure hunt activities to choose from. Please bring a pencil or pen and wear a hat and enclosed shoes. This is a self-guided activity as you wander the botanic gardens. Collect your treasure hunt flyer from the Visitor Information Centre.

Micro Museum
What will you collect? Welcome to Micro Museum – a space for telling stories through objects. You are invited to explore the fascinating world of collecting, and uncover the memories that objects hold. Inspired by major exhibition Precious in this space you are the curator. You can select, sort and arrange a wide array of items, many of which are second-hand or vintage. Each object holds memories, and now you can create your own.

Monster Mashup
Be inspired by the treasures in Precious and Micro Museum and let your imagination run wild with Monster Mashup! Mix, match and mash-up pictures to create your own whimsical creature in this fun and free activity available every day of the week during these school holidays. School holiday autumn butterfly activity hub
Enjoy the cooler weather by exploring the gardens and getting to know plants with special relationships with butterflies. Take inspiration from the amazing shapes of falling Autumn leaves to create seasonal butterfly art. Wander the butterfly plants trail and see whose eating what; or identify the parts of a butterfly and colour them in to represent local butterfly species. Bring a picnic lunch and make a day of it on the lawn. Children under 16 are to be accompanied by an adult. For more information, email [email protected]: Meet at the Temperate lawn. Please wear a hat and enclosed shoes; and bring a snack and keep cup or water bottle. This workshop supports the Botanic Gardens' commitment to creating a plant loving community, dedicated to putting the plant back into planet.

Polish your peepers! You never know what you might spot. There is plenty for little eyes to spy with this free MoB Kids activity sheet. Transform your Museum visit into an exciting game of Eye Spy and discover details you might otherwise have missed. Can you spot the flowers? This playful Museum experience will immerse you in all manners of local art, history and culture, encompassing five different exhibitions. Ask our friendly staff at MoB reception when you arrive.
