Micro Museum
What will you collect? Welcome to Micro Museum – a space for telling stories through objects. You are invited to explore the fascinating world of collecting, and uncover the memories that objects hold. Inspired by major exhibition Precious in this space you are the curator. You can select, sort and arrange a wide array of items, many of which are second-hand or vintage. Each object holds memories, and now you can create your own.

Polish your peepers! You never know what you might spot. There is plenty for little eyes to spy with this free MoB Kids activity sheet. Transform your Museum visit into an exciting game of Eye Spy and discover details you might otherwise have missed. Can you spot the flowers? Stand-up paddle boarding
Bookings essential. Learn the basics of stand up paddle boarding. This lesson includes safety instruction, paddle techniques and activity tips. All equipment is provided and no experience is necessary. This is a Chillout event suitable for young people 10-17 years.

Royal Queensland Art Society Workshop Festival
In April, the Royal Queensland Art Society Petrie Terrace Gallery is excited to be hosting a 2-week workshop festival! As a part of this festival, we will be holding a variety of workshops that cover a range of themes, artistic mediums and all-age groups: there is something for everyone! To kick off the festival, we will be hosting an Open Day at the gallery on Saturday, 5th of April from 10:30am. This is a great opportunity to meet the workshop tutors and find out more about the workshops, as well as find out more about other local art groups in Brisbane. Suitable for all ability levels, this session will build your confidence and provide tips and tricks on how to ride safely and have fun on your BMX. Presented as part of Council's Cycling Brisbane program.
Monster Mashup
Be inspired by the treasures in Precious and Micro Museum and let your imagination run wild with Monster Mashup! Mix, match and mash-up pictures to create your own whimsical creature in this fun and free activity available every day of the week during these school holidays. Bookings essential. This is the best team games going around. Teams compete in fun but challenging activities for clues or rewards to the next challenge. With team work, strategy and a little luck, you will survive the challenge. Bring your friends. This is a Chillout event suitable for young people 10-17 years of age.
Meet wildlife neighbours
Native wildlife live all around us - from our backyards, to local parks and nature reserves. But have you had a chance to meet them up close? Join our wildlife expert as they introduce you to amphibians, reptiles, mammals and birds. Learn more about these unique Australian animals and how you can help your wildlife neighbours. Requirements: Arrive 10 minutes before starting time to check in. All children must be accompanied and directly supervised by an adult. Wear a wide-brimmed hat, sun-smart clothing and sunscreen as some shows may take place outside. Bring drinking water and a snack or picnic lunch as there are no food outlets on site. Note: Events are subject to weather and environmental conditions and may be cancelled on the day.

Join us for a morning of fun challenges as you build your own colourful constructions. Ideal for children aged 5-12 years.
Fun basketball skills and games at a basketball court
Bookings essential. Skill development and fun games with fundamental basketball drills and 3x3 action. This is a Chillout event suitable for young people 5-12 years. Children under 12 must have a supervising adult present.

The event will be held in Kurilpa Hall. Discover a new world of learning, play and adventure with Dash robots. Participants will learn programming concepts and send simple commands to control a robot. No previous programming experience required. A BNEtechkids workshop.

Bookings essential. Enjoy some old school games with likeminded people including chess, checkers, connect 4, Jenga, bocce and more. Games are giant size and easy to handle. This is a GOLD'n'Kids event suitable for seniors and children 4 years and over.
School Holidays: Meccano construction for families
Do you have a construction whiz in your family? Bring your children or grandchildren along for a memorable hands-on family STEM session. Using traditional STEM skills, build a working model using metal strips, plates, girders and wheels that are connected together with nuts and bolts. Ideal for participants aged 10 years and older. School holidays: Movie screening: Dinosaur Island (PG)
Enjoy a movie screening of Dinosaur Island. (2015) (82 mins). Thirteen year old Lucas (Darius Winton) finds himself stranded on a strange island inhabited by prehistoric creatures. While searching for signs of life, Lucas is drawn into the jungle where he encounters Kathryn (Kate Rasmussen). StoryTime Adventure with Claire Thompson
These school holidays, meet Claire Thompson, children's author inspired by real-life young heroes! In this fun-filled Storytime, kids will be introduced to Croccy, a four-foot realistic crocodile friend, and join in a lively croc song and story. Claire will read from her latest release, Croc Candy, and share fascinating crocodile facts that will spark curiosity. After story time, kids can get creative with a croc-inspired art and craft activity, designing their own unique lollipops inspired by Croccy. Ideal for children 3-5 years.
