Our volunteer guides all have a love for Brisbane’s Botanic Gardens and a desire to share their passion and knowledge with visitors. Walking tours for individuals and small groups (up to ten people) are free and do not require a booking. Have a larger group? Find out more about booking walks for groups 10 or more in size. Meeting point: Meet at the Mt Coot-tha Visitor Information Centre. Note: Walks may be subject to environmental conditions and guide capacity on the day.

Twilight walk - Karawatha Rocks Track

Join Brisbane City Council's Environment Centres staff on a twilight walk through Karawatha Forest. Experience the natural wonders of this beautiful bushland reserve and enjoy views of the forest at dusk. The 2.5km Rocks Track has some climbs and steps, moderate fitness required. This activity will continue in light rain. Requirements: For safety reasons, moderate fitness is required. Please wear secure, fully enclosed walking shoes, and light-weight long pants and long sleeves are recommended. Please bring a small hand-held torch (no headlamps), insect repellent, drinking water, snack, and a raincoat if required. Please do not leave early unless it is an emergency. Note: activities are subject to weather and environmental conditions and may be cancelled on the day.

Bands in Parks performs at Queensland Maritime Museum Park. Kick back and watch the sunset over the Brisbane River from this beautiful vantage point near the Goodwill Bridge. Before the city warms up to Friday evening, take some time to enjoy big band jazz after work at the Maritime Museum with music by Brass Roots Live. Please note – entry is alongside the Maritime Museum Ferry terminal, via Dock Street. The main Museum entry is closed on Friday Nights. There is no BYO food or drinks at this venue. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

Whatever your skill level and motivation, joining your local Habitat Brisbane group is a great way to connect to nature and be active and healthy, all while meeting new people, developing new skills and making a difference to your local environment. With 160 groups across the city there’s bound to be one near you! Habitat Brisbane volunteers undertake a variety of activities including: managing environmental weeds revegetating with local native plants creating habitat for native wildlife citizen science projects.The Mookin-Bah Bushcare Group meets the second and last Saturday of each month 7-9am in the warmer months, 7.30-9.30am in the cooler months.
