Little Artist’s Eye Spy
Polish your peepers! You never know what you might spot. There is plenty for little eyes to spy with this free MoB Kids activity sheet. Transform your Museum visit into an exciting game of Eye Spy and discover details you might otherwise have missed. Can you spot the flowers? This playful Museum experience will immerse you in all manners of local art, history and culture, encompassing five different exhibitions. Ask our friendly staff at MoB reception when you arrive. Micro Museum
What will you collect? Welcome to Micro Museum – a space for telling stories through objects. You are invited to explore the fascinating world of collecting, and uncover the memories that objects hold. Inspired by major exhibition Precious in this space you are the curator. You can select, sort and arrange a wide array of items, many of which are second-hand or vintage. Each object holds memories, and now you can create your own.
Volunteer Bushcare Working Bee - Perrin Creek & Seven Hills Bushland Rehabilitation Group
Join other like-minded volunteers to help protect and restore Brisbane’s unique biodiversity through our Habitat Brisbane program. Whatever your skill level and motivation, joining your local Habitat Brisbane group is a great way to connect to nature and be active and healthy, all while meeting new people, developing new skills and making a difference to your local environment. With 160 groups across the city there’s bound to be one near you! Habitat Brisbane volunteers undertake a variety of activities including: managing environmental weeds revegetating with local native plants creating habitat for native wildlife citizen science projects.The Perrin Creek & Seven Hills Bushland Rehabilitation Group meet every Tuesday and every Friday, and the second Saturday of the month 7.30-10am. Location: Seven Hills Bushland Reserve, 508 Darcy Road, Seven Hills.

Habitat Brisbane volunteers undertake a variety of activities including: managing environmental weeds revegetating with local native plants creating habitat for native wildlife citizen science projects.The Mackenzie Bushcare Group meet every Wednesday morning 8-10am in the warmer months, and 8.30-10.30am in the cooler months.

Bookings essential. Learn the basics of stand up paddle boarding. This lesson includes safety instruction, paddle techniques and activity tips. All equipment is provided and no experience is necessary. This is a Chillout event suitable for young people 10-17 years.
Volunteer Bushcare Working Bee - Boondall Wetlands Bushcare Group
Join other like-minded volunteers to help protect and restore Brisbane’s unique biodiversity through our Habitat Brisbane program. Whatever your skill level and motivation, joining your local Habitat Brisbane group is a great way to connect to nature and be active and healthy, all while meeting new people, developing new skills and making a difference to your local environment. With 160 groups across the city there’s bound to be one near you! Due to the nature and needs of the Wetlands, the volunteer work revolves around identifying invasive weeds and removing them after establishing the best way to deal with individual weed species. This allows the natural seed bank in the soil to regenerate. The Boondall Wetlands Bushcare Group meet up on most Fridays (except public holidays).
Community Immunisation Clinic - Forest Lake
Brisbane City Council provides free vaccinations to eligible residents (aged from 6 weeks and above) through our community immunisation clinics. Immunisation helps protect people against diseases such as influenza, measles, whooping cough, polio and tetanus. Take a look at the National Health Medical Research Council vaccination schedule for advice about when you should be vaccinated. Providing a free immunisation service is another way Council is helping deliver our Brisbane Vision.
Nature Play for 5–8 years
Bookings essential. This inclusive nature play program is open to children 5-8 years. Have fun in the mud kitchen or have a go at loose parts play. This is a great opportunity for families to engage in outdoor play together, with something for every age and stage of development.
Understory by Rachel Apelt
Be drawn into a dialogue with nature through Rachel Apelt’s Understory. Visual artist Rachel Apelt, who lives in the upper catchment of Kedron Brook and Cabbage Tree Creek, shares her deep connection to nature with this exhibition. A ‘walking artist,’ her work presents details and impressions from her daily walks along creeklines and forest reserves. The work celebrates the special role of Macaranga trees in creekline regeneration, highlighting their beauty and ecological importance as well as the sense of community that can flourish in their shade. Understory is open now until 30 May 2025 at the Boondall Wetland Environment Centre. Open hours: Tuesday - Friday 9am - 4pm Saturday - Sunday 9am - 12pm

Junior run squad
Come and try running with fully accredited coaches. Learn techniques that will help you run stronger and smarter. These sessions focus on technique, speed, endurance and fun. All levels welcome. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the session. This is a Chillout event suitable for young people 8-17 years.

Playtopia

Each day introduces new themes, from learning how to breakdance, new sporting skills or unleashing your creative side with various book-inspired craft activities - ensuring an ever-evolving landscape of fun and learning. Playtopia is designed to be a morning filled with entertainment, education, and hands-on activities for every curious mind. It's a celebration of childhood, where every child can explore, learn, and create unforgettable memories. No need to book in advance – simply turn up and go whenever it suits your schedule. Please note there is no Playtopia programmed on Good Friday (18 April).

Botanic art: Illuminated Butterflies and their host plants
Butterflies bring a jewel-like brilliance to our beautiful gardens as they flit from flower to flower. However, their caterpillars can be rather fussy about the plants they eat! Using techniques from Medieval and Renaissance illuminated manuscripts, learn to use gold leaf and traditional paints to bring to life your chosen butterfly and its special host plant. 16+ years

Botanical Treasure Hunt
Crack the clues to discover the natural treasures hidden within the Botanic Gardens at Mt Coot-tha. Work alone or in a group and explore the Botanic Gardens to solve this exciting treasure hunt. We have an activity suitable for ages 12 and under, with 2 age appropriate treasure hunt activities to choose from. Please bring a pencil or pen and wear a hat and enclosed shoes. This is a self-guided activity as you wander the botanic gardens. Collect your treasure hunt flyer from the Visitor Information Centre.
