Royal Queensland Art Society Workshop Festival
In April, the Royal Queensland Art Society Petrie Terrace Gallery is excited to be hosting a 2-week workshop festival! As a part of this festival, we will be holding a variety of workshops that cover a range of themes, artistic mediums and all-age groups: there is something for everyone! To kick off the festival, we will be hosting an Open Day at the gallery on Saturday, 5th of April from 10:30am. This is a great opportunity to meet the workshop tutors and find out more about the workshops, as well as find out more about other local art groups in Brisbane. Learn new skills on your Scooter that will help you ride skate parks safely and have more fun! This is a Chillout event suitable for young people 4-17 years.

Senses alive: see, hear, touch nature
Bookings essential. Come and bring your senses to life. See the trees, hear the birds, touch the leaves and breathe in the fresh air. Come along to hear some stories and songs about the senses, engage in some creative activities that explore the textures of the park and play some games that will get everyone feeling active and healthy. This is a Chillout event suitable for young people 3-8 years .

Little Explorers: Bug Detectives (5 years+)
Meet some of the Environment Centre’s resident insects and other mini-beasts at a fun bug show, then test out your detective skills on a short walk investigating bugs and their habitats. What will we find living nearby? Join this one-of-a-kind school holiday activity to discover fascinating facts about bugs and other mini-beasts and find out why these amazing animals are nature’s superheroes! On the day of the event: Arrive 10 minutes before starting time to check in with staff at the Environment Centre. All children must be accompanied and directly supervised by an adult. Wear sun-safe clothing and fully enclosed shoes. Bring insect repellent and sunscreen for later outdoor use if required, but please ensure you don't have any on your hands when meeting or touching our friendly bugs! Bring water and a snack if required as there are no food outlets on site.Note: This event will go ahead in light rain. Events are subject to weather and environmental conditions and may be cancelled on the day.

Discover the hidden secrets of your heritage-listed City Hall building with a guided tour of Brisbane’s iconic Clock Tower. The Clock Tower Tour is a “must do” while in Brisbane! For many years, City Hall’s Clock Tower elevated the building to Brisbane’s tallest, offering visitors a magnificent 360 degree view of the city around them. Whilst the view has changed significantly over the last 90 years, the time-honoured tradition of “taking a trip up the tower” happily continues at Museum of Brisbane. The Clock Tower Tour includes a ride in one of Brisbane’s oldest working cage lifts, a look behind Australia’s largest analogue clock faces and time to explore the observation platform that shares a unique perspective of your city. Free guided tour - Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha
Take a free volunteer guided walk to learn about the plants and features at Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha. Our volunteer guides all have a love for Brisbane’s Botanic Gardens and a desire to share their passion and knowledge with visitors. Walking tours for individuals and small groups (up to ten people) are free and do not require a booking. Have a larger group? Find out more about booking walks for groups 10 or more in size. Meeting point: Meet at the Mt Coot-tha Visitor Information Centre. Note: Walks may be subject to environmental conditions and guide capacity on the day.

Children will love this tour of the Solar System through the eyes of a family of aliens on vacation from another star system. Session concludes with a virtual tour of the Brisbane night sky.

Zine Street Fair on the Queen Street Mall
Come along to Zine Street Mall as a part of this years Youth week celebrations. Copy & Destroy Zine Library will be popping up to host a zine fair on the Main Stage of the Queen Street Mall. Pop in to check out some amazing zines by young, local zine artists.
